Failing to shed light on the question which everyone wants answered, the cause of Michael Jackson’s death is still unknown following the completion of his autopsy by the L.A. County Coroner’s Office on Friday (June 26).

Explaining that more tests are necessary to determine the official cause of death, chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey said “the cause of death was deferred because additional tissue studies and testing—including toxicology, neuropathology, pulmonary and others—must be completed.”

With a four to six week wait looming ahead, it was revealed that Jackson’s body “suffered no external trauma” with “no indication of foul play,” according to Harvey.

Also telling that there were prescription drugs in his system, Harvey didn’t go any further, saying, “It is something which is private to Michael, and we’ll have to wait for the toxicology reports before we jump to any kind of conclusions,” he said. “I only know that I warned that his day may come. And lo and behold, here we are.”

Meanwhile, Jackson’s body is currently ready to be released, but the family has not yet chosen a mortuary and no timetable for picking up the body has been made public.
