While she has worked with hotshots like Akshay Kumar (CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA), Saif Ali Khan (LOVE AAJ KAL), Ranbir Kapoor (BACHNA AE HASEENO) and Farhan Akhtar (KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK) in the last couple of years, Deepika has HOUSEFULL (where she pairs up with Akshay Kumar once again), KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE with Abhishek Bachchan, BREAK KE BAAD with Imran Khan and Yash Raj Film’s untitled film with Neil Nitin Mukesh also lined up.
With the so-called used and abused term called ‘chemistry’ being heard time and again, one wonders if the same factor would really come in handy with any of her co-stars in half a dozen films that she is doing.
“See, chemistry is something that is just there”, says Deepika who is currently ultra busy with HOUSEFULL round the corner, “You can’t create chemistry by any means. Either it is there or not there. In fact half the battle is won if you have the casting correct.”
For an actor who has been enjoying a release every six months ever since her 2007 debut (in OM SHANTI OM), Deepika goes on to speak like a veteran actor. “A lot of what is being attributed as chemistry should instead be looked at rather differently because there is so much which depends upon the moments created by the team of the writer and the director”, smiles Deepika.
Well, with HOUSEFULL being the first of the lot to arrive, it would be interesting to see how her chemistry with Akshay turns out be. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Sajid Khan, HOUSEFULL has music by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy and is releasing all over on 30th April.
