Call it luck, co-incidence or whatever, but the fact remains that Mukta Movies Distributors are reaping the benefits of the only two successes of 2010.
For the uninitiated, Mukta Movies Distributors have distributed Vishal Bhardwaj’s ISHQIYA and Karan Johar’s MY NAME IS KHAN in the two major circuits of North India, Delhi-U.P. and East Punjab. Both the films have done exceedingly well in the mentioned circuits.

Mumbai, Samir Karnik’s “Yamla Pagla Deewana” will see Dharmendra and Bobby Deol as a conmen duo. The directors says preparations for the film have brought the father and son closer.
Earlier Bobby used to be intimidated by his father in real life, Karnik said.
“Not so any longer. Thanks to the preparation for my film, both Bobby and Sunny have loosened up with their dad,” Karnik, who will shoot in Varanasi in April, told IANS.

Washington, Grossing an estimated $1.86 million at the box office in its first weekend, Shah Rukh Khan starrer “My Name Is Khan” has broken the record for the largest opening weekend ever for a Hindi film in North America.
The Fox Searchlight release directed by Karan Johar averaged $15,500 from 120 theatres across the United States and Canada over Feb 12-14 weekend. The previous record was held by Shah Rukh’s musical extravaganza “Om Shanti Om” which grossed $1.76 million from 114 theatres when it was released over the Diwali holiday weekend in 2007.

Mumbai, She is spontaneous, brilliant, the perfect choice…Kajol is undoubtedly one of Karan Johar’s favourite actresses and the director says he might not even have made “My Name Is Khan” if she had said no to the film.
“I had only Kajol in mind for Mandira’s role. And I don’t think I would have made this film had she said no to me. She was the perfect choice for the character. I don’t think anyone could have done justice to it as she has,” Karan Johar told IANS in an interview.

Bhubaneswar, The Orissa unit of the Bajrang Dal Tuesday threatened to disrupt the screening of Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “My Name Is Khan” across the state if the actor does not apologise for his alleged “pro-Pakistan” statement.
“We will not allow the screening of the film in the state,” Subash Chouhan, national co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal, told IANS.

New Delhi, Yash Raj Films is launching newcomer Ranveer Singh opposite “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” actress Anushka Sharma in their next project.
The film will be directed by Maneesh Sharma, who worked as an assistant director on Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”. The untitled venture will be produced by Aditya Chopra.
